Welcome to Week 1 of Shravan 2026! Having set your initial intentions on Day 1, this week focuses on deepening your practice. We will explore the science of the Shivling, the power of the Panchakshari Mantra, and prepare for the all-important first Shravan Somvar.

Daily Breakdown (Days 2 to 7)

Day 2: Inner Listening (Antarnaad)

Shiva is stillness. Today, spend 10 minutes in absolute silence. Before reacting to any situation, pause and listen to your inner self.

Day 3: The Science of the Shivling

The Shivling is a representation of cosmic energy. It signifies the union of energy (Shakti) and consciousness (Shiva). When you pour water (Jalabhishek), you are cooling the intense cosmic energy, bringing balance to your own mind.

Day 4: Panchakshari Mantra Chanting

“Om Namah Shivaya” These five syllables (Na-Ma-Shi-Va-Ya) represent the five elements of nature: Earth, Water, Fire, Air, and Space. Chant this mantra 108 times today, focusing on harmonizing your physical body with the universe.

Day 5: Ego Muting (Ahamkar Tyaag)

Shiva is known as Bholenath, the innocent one. Today’s practice is to let go of ego. Forgive someone who has wronged you, or apologize to someone you may have hurt. Release the burden of pride.

Day 6: Somvar Vrat Prep

Tomorrow is the first Shravan Somvar. Prepare your mind and body. Decide the nature of your fast (fruits only, one meal, or liquid only). Gather the necessary puja items: Bel leaves, milk, honey, and sacred ash (Bhasma).

Day 7: First Somvar Abhishekam

The day has arrived! Wake up before sunrise, take a purifying bath, and perform Jalabhishek. Offer Bel leaves with devotion. Let this fast cleanse your digestive system and elevate your spiritual energy.

May Mahadev bless your journey through Week 1. Share your progress with fellow devotees!
